Aren't you supposed to give the love potion to the one you want to fall in love with you? Since his partner is presumably a woman, it should be frigidity instead of impotence.
I would have written it, "This love potion is guaranteed to work, but may result in sleeplessness, rage, frustration, poverty and death" in order to more closely track the long-term consequences of love.

I think the writer was just making fun of the side effects that are generally listed in those commercials for medicine on TV.
Well yeah, but they missed the opportunity to ALSO comment on the side effects of love as well. That's all I'm saying.
